Maren Jones is a seasoned industry professional with wide-ranging experience spanning collection and exhibit registration, curation, and management for museum and corporate collections, artists, and estates. She is deeply invested in the success of every project and handles the pressures and intensity of complex collections management and exhibition programming on-budget and on-time, while achieving outstanding results.

Growing up in museums, early on Maren developed a personal appreciation for their important role as resources for researching, gathering, and sharing information about history, arts, and cultures, and presenting stories through the objects they collected.

Maren’s professional journey began in Southern California, looking after the collections of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Knowing that the care she took in the present would ensure their preservation for the future, Maren became passionate about caring for the museum’s diverse holdings of paintings, sculptures, artifacts, and scientific specimens. It opened her eyes to the variety of objects that she could support and handle as a museum registrar, later working with contemporary art, historical, photography, and animation collections.

In preparing objects for exhibitions, she developed a greater appreciation for the contribution she could make not just to preserving a collection but to providing broad access to it, by safely shepherding artwork and artifacts through the exhibition process. In this way, she could both provide stewardship and facilitate access to objects that would make meaningful connections with visitors around the world. 

Over the years, Maren’s role has expanded to include overseeing exhibition development, design, programming, and promotion, as well as complex international travel protocols, brand management, and press. Yet at the core of this work is her fierce commitment to preservation and her delight in the magical experience of exhibitions.
